Alright, I'm 18 and a freshman in college this year, and I commute there 20 minutes everyday to save money (room & board is around 15k). And the car I have now is not really reliable anymore. Its a 94 Cutlass Cierra, and within the last month the Heating Core, and the Alternator have both went, and I've had to sink 600 dollars into it. I'm looking at getting a new car next summer, and I have basically narrowed it down to two choices. An Eclipse (Mitsu) or Cougar (Mercuy). Rough estimate for Car Insurance Cost For Second Year?

Hi peeps. I Have a question about car insurance. I am basically looking for qualified guesses from people who have previous experience with this sort of thing. I am a first year driver. Im 21 and i passed my test in early August and was driving straight away because i had bought my car the month before hand. The car i own is a 1.4 Ford Fiesta Zetec 2002. I paid around 1250 for the year for insurance and i did it through Quinn Direct. My question is, does anybody know a rough figure of what it might be next year baring in mind i have never claimed? I have tried running new quotes on comparison websites but they are based on new customers and all come out at around 1500 to 4000 If anyone has used this company or even another company and situation was similar could you please tell me the rough figure of what it was reduced to/from just so i can maybe have an idea of what to expect Any help is greatly appreciated. Cost of insurance for BMW M3 for a teen?

My friend offered me his old BMW M3 for sale. It is a 2000 and 6cyl. I have always dreamt of getting a BMW. I am 18 and live in Iowa. I have good grades and a completely clean driving record. I have a decent sized budget but I was wondering what insurance would cost for it? Would it be possible to lower the cost by putting it under my parents names? It does have a salvage title for a tiny little fender bender. The body has been completely repaired, would this lower the cost of insurance? Obviously any M3 is going to be more expensive.. So what other BMW would be cheap on insurance? How are 3-series is comparison to m3's. Any year close to 2000 preferably. I am just searching and checikng my options. I dont want anyone telling me that i shouldnt buy a BMW. I am not set on it, just a simple question out of curiousity. Any average estimates you guys can give me would be nice. Thanks

How much will insurance pay for month old tires and brakes?

I was in an accident after which the insurance deemed my car to be totaled. I had replaced all four tires and rear brakes on the car less than a month back. The claim adjustor says that they will include 50% value of the tires and brakes in the claim payment. Is this normal practice? I do not expect to be reimbursed the exact dollar amount for the parts but 50% seemed like a random value. I was expecting that they will pro-rate it using some formula.

Cheap Car Insurance for a 17 year old ?

I am looking for car insurance in Britain. I am 17 next month so I am looking at provisional prices which aren't too bad. I was curious and put in my birthday a few months earlier and said i had passed, the price was in excess of 4000, for a car worth 1000 ? I then put in the details of a friends new car, hes 17 and only just passed. Rich and got a 2011 bmw 1 series top of the range, quote was 9,500. How can a 1000 car be only 5000 cheaper than a 30000 car, none of this makes sense ?
